The Town Council meets Thursday evening and will consider whether to award a $1.468 million bid to Low Mountain Construction for improvements to Avenue of the Fountains.
It has been a difficult road for this project, finally coming back to the council after a delay of nearly a year. Improvements will include the replacement of irrigation and electrical systems in the Avenue median as well as new and upgraded fountains, walking paths and art displays.
If work begins by late this month or early May, it should be completed by early fall.

The council will also vote on whether to hire Robert Melton as the new municipal court judge for Fountain Hills.
Valley Metro will make a presentation on its transit study for the Town of Fountain Hills and the town is expected to give the agency more time to refine its recommendations for the town.
The council meets at 6:30 p.m. in council chambers at Town Hall.
