Avenue project, water complaints added to council agenda

The Town Council will consider a schedule extension for the contractor on the Avenue of the Fountains project when it meets this evening, Thursday, Oct. 2.

The contractor cites a change in power access with a hard dig involved, manufacturer delays and the weather for falling behind schedule. In a letter requesting the extension Low Mountain Construction asked to move the completion date for the project from Oct. 20, to Nov. 7.

Staff said it would prefer to wait until after the Fall Festival of the Arts before installing sod, and recommends the extension be granted until Nov. 21, 30 days from the original completion schedule.
