Avian guests

Regarding the proposal of a swimming area/beach at Fountain Park, might I remind those in favor of such an idea that the area is currently fouled by a completely unacceptable number of avian guests. I am sure that swimmers will love to lie on a beach or swim in the water occupied by these critters!

I believe that there is a lot that could be (needs to be) done to clean up the existing fountain, pond and park area before contemplating (and spending money) on such an idea. Much of the grass needs to be reseeded, fountain worked on, and the bowl and water cleaned.

The new proposal might be part of a phased plan over 10 years, with appropriate, realistic budgeting.

But please, let’s get rid of the cause of the water and surface pollution and reinvigorate what we have first!
