The Fountain Hills Democratic club hosted Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes at its monthly meeting held Oct. 8. Mayes outlined her office's recent legal actions concerning consumer protection, corporate accountability and environmental regulation.
Mayes detailed several lawsuits filed by the Arizona Attorney General's Office, according to a press release, highlighting a multi-state settlement with Meta Platforms, Inc. over allegations that its platforms were designed with addictive features. Mayes noted that the agreement secured a $17.1 billion national resolution, with $223 million allocated directly to Arizona.
The office is pursuing an antitrust price-fixing lawsuit against RealPage, Inc. and nine residential landlords, the release continued, alleging anti-competitive practices that have inflated rent prices across the Phoenix and Tucson metropolitan areas.
