Ballet under the Stars, one of the area’s most popular annual events, will be held Thursday, Sept. 25, at 7 p.m. in Fountain Park.

The free performance by Ballet Arizona serves as a prelude to the ballet company’s 29th season.

Residents can spend a relaxing evening under the Arizona sky as Ballet Arizona continues its traditional season opening event.

In addition, Ballet under the Stars will feature a presentation of Class Act, one of Ballet Arizona’s education and outreach programs. Class Act combines the talents and expertise of the professional dancers of Ballet Arizona with the youthful ideas and creative energies of school-age children.

Class Act gives local elementary school students the opportunity to create a dance with the guidance of Ballet Arizona’s professional dancers. The students then perform their dance during Ballet under the Stars for their community.

The performance will be held near the park’s amphitheater. Plenty of parking is available across Saguaro Blvd. behind local businesses.
