Barbara Hinson

Barbara Hinson of Fountain Hills passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord on December 9, 2024 at the age of 88. Born in Lake Forest, IL, she grew up in Chicago’s northern suburbs. She met future husband Johnny while he was stationed at Great Lakes Naval Training Center. The couple were married in 1961; their union lasted 63 years. A homemaker and lifelong woman of faith, Barbara was active in the local congregation wherever she lived and usually sang in the choir. When her two children left for college, she branched out into other activities, becoming in turn a Real Estate agent, a hospital volunteer, a Master Gardener, a certified Handwriting Analyst, a golfer and the President of a Chamber of Commerce, as well as a Daughter of the American Revolution. Barbara loved to travel. During her lifetime she visited every US state and several countries throughout the world. She is survived by her husband Johnny, her sister Earlene Graham, her two children John Hinson and Susan Julian, and her granddaughter, Laura Julian. A Memorial Service is planned for Saturday, March 1, 2025 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fountain Hills.
