Beeline brushfire contained

Firefighters quickly got control of a brush fire along the Beeline Highway north of Fountain Hills Tuesday morning.

Fountain Hills Asst. Fire Chief Dave Ott responded to coordinate Rural/Metro crews with Tonto National Forest and other resources. Ott said the fire was started by a motor home fire around 11 a.m.

Ott said the fire was contained at about 15 acres near Mile Post 208 in the northbound lanes of State Route 87. That is near the Four Peaks and Sycamore Creek turnoffs from the Beeline.

Firefighters quickly got control of a brush fire along the Beeline Highway north of Fountain Hills Tuesday morning.

Fountain Hills Asst. Fire Chief Dave Ott responded to coordinate Rural/Metro crews with Tonto National Forest and other resources. Ott said the fire was started by a motor home fire around 11 a.m.

Ott said the fire was contained at about 15 acres near Mile Post 208 in the northbound lanes of State Route 87. That is near the Four Peaks and Sycamore Creek turnoffs from the Beeline.

Tonto National Forest personnel along with Rural/Metro and Fort McDowell Fire Department crews were on the scene. A helicopter was used for water drops.

There were no injuries.
