I read the letter from Mark Forster (May 10) and felt the need to set the record straight. I won't comment on the government use of resources, since someone else will probably respond to that issue.
As a pastor, and a believer in the God of the Bible, I find that prayer is very effective, and has a great basis in reality, contrary to the words of Mr. Forster. Unfortunately, it would be like trying to describe the color blue to someone born blind, so I won’t spend time explaining the results and impact of prayer in the lives of believers. Either you believe in the power of prayer, or you don’t.

Someone making the claim that God does not exist is stating that they are fully aware of all that takes place in our universe, and there is no way that God exists in any form. Those who make such a statement are in fact claiming to have all of the knowledge of the universe, which would make them God. Many of the same people who deny the existence of God, trust fully in the theory of evolution, which requires much more faith to believe than Christianity.
God speaks for Himself: “The fool has said in his heart, ‘There is no God.’” (Psalm 14:1) “For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened.” (Romans 1:20 - 21)
