Bible challenge

Many people only know what they’ve been told about the Bible. Too few have actually read it for themselves. I would like to invite our community to participate in what is called, “The New Testament Challenge.”

The challenge is to read the entire New Testament over a twelve week period, six days a week. In fact, five different congregations here in Fountain Hills are participating in this challenge. If you have never read the New Testament in the Bible, why not read it for yourself? Or, if it’s been a long time, why not take a fresh look at it?

The reading schedule is available at any of the five participating churches. In fact, if you don’t own a Bible, we will be happy to give you one.

The reading schedule is available at any of the five participating churches. In fact, if you don’t own a Bible, we will be happy to give you one.

Participating congregations and their pastors are: Christ’s Church - Pastor Don Lawrence; First Baptist Church - Pastor Tony Pierce; Fountain Hills Christian Center - Pastor Todd Forrest; Calvary Chapel - Pastor Rick Ponzo; and Desert Creek Fellowship - Pastor Rod Warembourg.

Some may be surprised by the pragmatic and relevant teachings, covering topics such as relationships, marriage, money management, raising children, community living, caring for the poor, racial prejudice, dealing with grief, etc.

Of course, a myriad of spiritual issues are also included, such as angels, prayer, heaven, worship, prophecy, the incarnation, Christ’s return, the Holy Spirit and, most importantly, eternal life!

The readings for the New Testament Challenge begin on Monday, January 25. Wouldn’t you like to know what the New Testament really says and, perhaps just as importantly, what it doesn’t say? Please consider this your invitation to join us for The New Testament Challenge.
