This weekend offers a couple of great reasons for Fountain Hills families to get out and have some fun, including the ever-popular Movie in the Park, as well as the annual Eggstravaganza Easter egg hunt.
On Friday, April 1, everyone is invited out to Fountain Park for a showing of Pete’s Dragon at 7 p.m. This is the 2016 retelling of the Disney classic about a boy living out in the wild with a dragon companion.
The weather is basically perfect this time of year and there will be some local vendors on hand selling treats, so grab your blankets and head on down for a good old-fashioned movie under the stars.

After the movie, you might want to hit the hay early, because the 2017 Eggstravaganza is set to run from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday, April 8, at Golden Eagle Park.
The hunt doesn’t begin until 9 a.m., but there’s plenty to keep folks busy while they wait for the official countdown including breakfast, games, bouncy houses, a visit with local firefighters and more. Hoppy Bunny and Peeps the Chicken will be on hand for plenty of photo ops, too.
Once the big event rolls around, youngsters will have the chance to grab 15,000 eggs spread across three baseball fields. That’s a huge number of eggs, but the actual “hunt” typically lasts less than a minute. In other words, don’t be late!
