Santa Claus will be a tired fellow by the end of Saturday, Dec. 3. He will appear at three major community events to ring in the Christmas season.

St. Nicholas will be the honored guest at the annual Breakfast with Santa sponsored by the Town of Fountain Hills and Noon Kiwanis at 9 a.m. in the Community Center.

Families are advised to bring their smartphone or camera for photos.

Tickets are $8 and only sold in advance at the Kiwanis website at fhkiwanis.org. No tickets will be available at the door.

Community Center

“Candy Cane Celebration” will be the theme for the free Christmas party for all ages beginning at 2 p.m. in the Community Center.

Making tree ornaments, sampling yummy refreshments and sipping hot cocoa are some activities planned. Musical entertainment and interactive train displays will delight youngsters and their parents. And yes, Santa is expected.

It is the 12th year for the afternoon of family fun.

Stroll in the Glow

Band music and carols; horse-drawn hay rides; a live Nativity created by Fountain Hills Presbyterian Church members, and seasonal crafts in the Elves’ Village at Sonoran Lifestyle Real Estate’s courtyard.

Activities begin at 5 p.m. and last until about 8 p.m. The event is sponsored by the Town of Fountain Hills and Chamber of Commerce.

Several stores and offices will be open to serve refreshments and assist shoppers with gift ideas.

Excitement will build shortly before 6 p.m. when the switch is thrown to turn on the lights and static displays in the median. Santa will arrive by fire truck shortly after 6 p.m. to greet the children and hear their wish lists.
