Bike Safety Rodeo is Jan. 28
Posted
Kids, did you get a new bicycle for Christmas? Or perhaps it’s time to jump on that trusty bike and take advantage of the nice weather?
The Noon Kiwanis Club will conduct its second annual Fountain Hills Bike Safety Rodeo Saturday, Jan. 28.
It will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. at the McDowell Mountain Elementary School campus on Fayette Drive.
Designed primarily for preschoolers to fifth graders, the bike rodeo will include safety inspections of bicycles, bike helmet checks and safety-oriented obstacle courses designed to teach safe riding practices and the rules of the road.
Kiwanians will conduct the bike rodeo in cooperation with Fountain Hills Bikes and the Fountain Hills Unified School District.
“We want this to be a family event where parents and young children can come by to make sure their bikes are safe and to practice some safe bicycle skills,” said Ken Brown, president of the Noon Kiwanis Club. “January is a great time to get outdoors and enjoy bicycling. We want to help make this a safe endeavor for kids and families.
“Please mark your calendars for January 28th and stop by for some fun and some safety tips.”
Refreshments and snacks will be available. Free raffle prizes will be available as well.
