The Town of Fountain Hills and Noon Kiwanis are teaming up with United Blood Services for a blood drive at the Community Center this Friday, Jan. 20, and Saturday, Jan. 21, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The holidays are typically seen as a time of giving, but that didn’t stop a massive drain on Phoenix area blood banks, according to United Blood Services.
The blood bank reports that orders outpaced donation by 60 percent during the holidays in the Valley, leaving less than a half-day supply of certain types on the shelves of blood banks.
