The next match for FHHS was away against Williams Field. The Falcons lost again in three sets; 25-19, 25-13 and 25-20.
Fountain Hills has two matches this week. The first was home on Tuesday, March 5, against Leading Edge Gilbert.
The Falcons’ next match is away on Thursday, March 7, against Barry Goldwater starting at 5:30 p.m.
Head coach Halle Harker was proud of the effort that her team put forth and the improvement they showed just between games.
“Of course we made some mistakes,” Harker said. “But we minimized a lot of the mistakes we made in the first game during the second.”
Harker was impressed with her new team’s ability to hang with more experienced programs.
“We really put the teams into some tough situations,” Harker said.
The Falcons’ first match of the season was at home and their next was on the road and Harker could see the difference that made as well.
“Having the home crowd definitely brought the energy up for the guys,” Harker said. “And you could see they were a little hesitant when we played away to get themselves pumped up.”
Harker knows that the team is anxious to get back out on the court to keep improving.
“We are progressing so much in practice right now and with more experience will come more progress,” Harker said. “Right now I need to teach them the difference between good and bad mistakes to make.”
