Charter School Teaching Director Shannon Lorance recently spoke with the Rotary Club about why Brelo, who works in the K-1 classroom, was nominated.
“She is caring and loving with her students and she shows true compassion and understanding to each and every one of her students,” Lorance said. “She is extremely patient and wants to make sure that the students not only learn their academic studies, but social skills as well.”
Lorance said Britta is a perfect example of a teacher who always goes above and beyond.
“She continuously comes in early and stays late to make sure her learning environment is perfectly prepared for her students,” Lorance added. “She is willing to do whatever it takes to guide her students and help them to become excellent learners.”
Four Peaks Rotary Club is a volunteer service organization whose motto is, “service above self.” Their website can be found at fourpeaksrotary.org, or anyone interested in learning more about club activities and meeting members can join Rotary for a complimentary breakfast. They meet the second and fourth Thursday of every month at 7 a.m., at Fountain View Village.
