We are going into the month of June tomorrow and what this means to me is that I will be turning 1 year older. It’s amazing how the time goes by so fast once you reach your mid 20’s but as I turn 41 I look back at a life that has just flown by but also has been filled with great times that I will always remember.
It’s crazy to think I will be 41 as we all don’t like to get older but it’s a part of life and we all make the best of it and do what we can to keep our bodies healthy so we can enjoy what life brings us at an older age. Your children, grand kids or your spouse is what we live for or if you are not married possibly a hobby or anything that makes you happy and enjoy life keeps the motivation going to eat right or to exercise more.
Last year at this time my wife threw me a surprise 40th birthday party which was a great time. I also had a little too much fun that day and after as in my mind I feel like I am in my 20’s but my body was telling me a different story. I had a little scare that I had to see a doctor about and he basically told me I need to stop eating bad and drinking like I am running around old Town Scottsdale with my friends in my 20’s. I looked over at my wife Gina and said damn but it’s a change we all face and even though I need to change some things it’s also a choice as well.

I picked up a Fit Bit and started to really look at myself and also remind myself that you only get one body and one life and to start getting more serious about my health. The Fit Bit is definitely a great investment as this pushed me to work out more and walk in the mornings. I feel so much better about myself now than I did 1 year ago. I look in the mirror and I am much happier how I look as well.
In my 20’s I always looked at turning to my 40’s something that will come in time but its amazing how fast it came. The world is so much more different than when I was in my 20’s but also have learned that age is only a number and you are your worst enemy by the choices you make.
Life can test you and its hard to kick bad habits that you enjoy but moderation is also something to learn as we get older where we can still enjoy what brings us pleasure without over doing it and I feel that this past year I have slowly been learning that snd getting better at it. I have a lot to be grateful for and as your reading this you should think to yourself how grateful you are for whlo you have around you or the life you have. Life is a gift and age is only a number. Stay young in your mind, smile and the rest will follow.
