Brush fire hits close to Fountain Hills town center

Blaze in Ashbrook Wash Tuesday, June 4

A brush fire that broke out in Ashbrook Wash Tuesday evening, June 4, was fortunately not serious.

However, it should serve as a wake-up call to residents who live adjacent to washes in Fountain Hills, according to Town of Fountain Hills Community Relations Director/Fire Department PIO Bo Larsen.

The blaze in the wash just east of Fountain Hills Boulevard between Ashbrook and Arrow drives was also near Fire Station #1 and firefighters responded quickly and got the fire under control. Access to fire hydrants on residential streets also helped quell the fire quickly. There are social media posted photos and video that show tall trees in the wash torched with flames.
