The Fountain Hills High School Band Boosters are hosting its third annual Buck for the Band fundraising event, asking residents to donate just a single dollar to help support another year of music.

It is the boosters’ goal to continue to provide the opportunity for students to have an enriching musical education and opportunities beyond what the regular budget is able to provide.

To do this, the organization relies on fundraising opportunities throughout the year, including the ongoing Buck for the Band event.

“Our students have a vast amount of exceptional talent that they are able to share with our community through the music program,” said Booster Julie Levy.

“With generous donations from local community businesses and residents, the FHHS band has been able to perform at Oktoberfest, the Fountain Hills Thanksgiving Day Parade, Halloween in the Hills, the local Kiwanis Club, the Phoenix Veterans Day Parade and various other groups and venues.”

Donations also help provide funding for uniforms, instrument repair and maintenance, competition entrance fees and travel expenses so students may perform at various state and regional competitions.

For the Buck for the Band donation drive, residents are asked to keep their eye out for special canisters set up at businesses all over town. The fundraiser will run through December, with residents asked to drop a dollar in a canister if they feel so inclined.

To make a donation, look for a canister alongside registers at local businesses including Zusia’s Doggie Salon, Pisa Pizza, Senior Taco, Cheryl’s, 1-Hour Super Cleaners, Deluxe Nails, You Need Nails, Anytime Fitness, Raffia, Suburban Sole and European Nails.

Canisters are also located at World of Nails, Vu Salon and Spa, La Baron Cleaners, R&R Nails, Fountain Fashions, Chocofin, Talk to the Paw, The Flower and Gift Shoppe, The Grecian Beauty Salon, Fountain Hills Barber Shop, Fountain Hairworks and Cigars n’ Such.

Spirit Calling will also host a Buck for the Band canister, alongside Simply Marvellous, Go Divas Salon, Nature’s Finest, Bright Side Shoppe, Touche Hair Design, Hair by Violetta, Paul’s ACE Hardware, Great Clips, Little Ceasars and Subway.

Finally, look for canisters at Walgreens, Pizza Hut, UPS Store, Fantastic Sams, Hi Health, Jiffy Lube, Discount Tire, O’Rielly, Sun Devil, Verizon and Denny’s.
