Republic Services’ annual bulk trash collection service for Fountain Hills customers is underway.

This year three additional collection days are added to each route.

The 2024 bulk trash collection  continues through May 1. The typical items which are considered bulk are too large to be disposed of in regular curbside trash container. To help residents get rid of these large items, Republic Services offers easy bulk trash pickup for recycling or disposal, so it does not have to be hauled to a landfill. Bulk items can include couches, lamps, rugs, mattresses, large appliances without freon and landscaping debris, except cactus.

Material must be placed at least five feet from any fixed object including utility pole, cable box, mailbox, etc. The material pile should not exceed six cubic yards (six feet high, six feet wide by four feet deep). Securely bag or tie all yard waste, cut tree trimmings down to less than 12-inches in diameter by four feet deep. Neatly stack, bag or tie material (no cactus allowed).

Bulk not placed before 6 a.m. on placement day will be considered late and will result in a fee. Republic Services will have all bulk recovered by Wednesday of the designated service week. Do not report a “miss” until after Wednesday.

Zone 8 is on the schedule for April 22 – 24, and Zone 9 collection is April 29 – May 1.
