After operating in the closed Four Peaks Elementary School building since September 2011, Calvary Chapel has moved to the corner of Parkview Avenue and N. Verde River Drive.

Calvary Chapel is a non-denominational, evangelical church that focuses on teaching the Bible in a way that most everyone can understand, said Senior Pastor Rick Ponzo.

“We had a great relationship with the Fountain Hills Unified School District over the past five years,” he said. “It was a win-win situation for both the school district and the church.”

The relocation was precipitated by EVIT moving next fall into the former school building. East Valley Institute of Technology (EVIT) provides educational training to adults and youths in 40 different career choices.

“I believe this is another win-win situation for Fountain Hills,” Ponzo said. “EVIT will provide specialized training to the community, and Calvary Chapel will be closer to town center in a location that is easy to access.

“We would like to invite anyone who is looking for a church home here in Fountain Hills to visit Calvary. We are more than a church. We are a family of believers in Jesus Christ.”

Sunday services begin at 10 a.m. Weekly Bible studies and special events are scheduled throughout each month.
