It’s a big election year here in Fountain Hills, with the position of mayor and three council seats soon to be filled by voters.
While the mayoral race seems to be getting the lion’s share of the attention, we’d like to remind our readers to make sure they’re following the council election just as closely. As noted by one of our readers, each council member has the same voting power as a mayor, so be sure you’re filling those seats with the folks you feel are most qualified to move Fountain Hills forward.

Each candidate has consistently participated in our ongoing Q&A series and all have also been invited to speak at the Chamber of Commerce forum scheduled for 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 19, at the Community Center. That’s only a week away, so we want to be sure everyone interested in attending has plenty of time to mark it in their calendar.
As a reminder, this is a free breakfast forum, though anyone planning on attending must register online by midnight on July 16. Un-registered visitors will not be able to attend the event, so hop onto fountainhillschamber.com and make sure you reserve your spot.
The Times will provide coverage of the event, but we feel the best way to get a feel for these candidates is to see them speak and answer questions in person.
