Arizona Corporation Commission candidates Jonathon Hill and Clara Pratte spoke at the event. Hill is a scientist and engineer at ASU with 18 years of experience working at NASA. His goal is to bring a technical and data-driven background to the commission.
Pratte is a member of the Navajo Nation and has over two decades of experience in entrepreneurship and government. She has served under three U.S. Presidents and four Navajo Nation Presidents. Her campaign is centered around lowering family utility costs and advancing clean energy in Arizona.
Two candidates for the Fountain Hills Town Council were also at the event. Catherine Mirick, who moved to Fountain Hills from Massachusetts, has an extensive background in financial services and local government, having served 12 years as a town meeting member and two terms on a school board. Mirick’s approach is described as “neighbor-first” by the press release.
Candidate Jeff Tate was also present. Tate has been a small business owner for 24 years and relocated to Fountain Hills from New Hampshire in 2022. Tate’s platform is centered around decorum and draws on his experience as a former member of a town budget committee and school board.
