Carolyn U. McClure, 86, of Fountain Hills, AZ, passed away Oct. 15, 2014. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 28 at Messinger Mortuaries, 12065 N Saguaro Blvd, Fountain Hills.

A longtime resident of Byfield, Mass., Carolyn taught junior and senior high school there for 22 years.

In retirement, Carolyn and her husband, Chuck, moved to Fountain Hills where she remained active in the community. She organized the first Alzheimer's support group in Fountain Hills; was a member and past president of the Fountain Hills Lions Club and volunteered as a docent for the Heard Museum in Phoenix and the River of Time Museum in Fountain Hills.

Carolyn was born on Jan. 11, 1928, in Toledo, Ohio. Carolyn is survived by her children, Charles (Chip) (wife Sarah) of Bloomfield Hills, Minn., Michael (wife Laura) of Glendale, Ariz., John (wife Katalin) of Buffalo, N.Y. and Heidi Woerdeman (husband, Jerry) of Monument, Colo.; seven grandchildren, two nieces, one nephew and one great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles, her brother, Lorin, and a nephew.
