We would like to thank Republic Services for supporting our community through their “Republic Gives Back” grant program. Five Fountain Hills non-profit organizations are eligible to receive $10,000 to support services outlined in their grant proposals. Selection of the recipient is based on the number of votes received by July 14. If you recycle, you can vote via www.republicgivesback.com.

Fearless Kitty Rescue is in the running! We invite you to visit Fearless Kitty Rescue (FKR), see our current cats and kittens, hear our story, and hear our plans for the $10,000 grant funds. Beginning May 23, FKR will be open each Sunday, 12 to 3 p.m. Location: 16913 E. Enterprise Dr. Information: 480-666-5544.

Whether you like or dislike cats, you are affected by their presence in our community. Strays run into the street and can be hit or cause drivers to swerve; both outcomes can be disastrous. Owners lose their cats and need help finding them. Or, residents find cats and kittens and want someone to take them.

Businesses and residential areas have colonies of strays living around them and want to reduce the number of cats or make sure the colony doesn’t get any bigger. All are services Fearless Kitty Rescue will provide with the funding from the grant.

Come see us at Fearless Kitty Rescue! Our facility is clean, bright and is the temporary home of many wonderful cats and kittens.

Thank you for your support. And thank you, Republic Services, for the Republic Services Community Grant program.
