CCWC talk at council meet

The Fountain Hills Town Council will meet for its regular session this week on Thursday, Oct. 3.

The council will hear a presentation from a representative of EPCOR USA regarding the company’s proposal before the Arizona Corporation Commission for a water rate increase for Chaparral City Water Company.

CCWC is asking for an increase in revenue of more than $3 million a year, which translates to an increase of around 35 percent for water users.

CCWC talk at council meet

The Fountain Hills Town Council will meet for its regular session this week on Thursday, Oct. 3.

The council will hear a presentation from a representative of EPCOR USA regarding the company’s proposal before the Arizona Corporation Commission for a water rate increase for Chaparral City Water Company.

CCWC is asking for an increase in revenue of more than $3 million a year, which translates to an increase of around 35 percent for water users.

The council will also hear a presentation from the Greater Phoenix Economic Council (GPEC). A representative will discuss how the town benefits from membership in the organization.

The council will consider an amendment to a professional services agreement it has with Arizona Business Advisors, revising the scope of work relating to funding for the business incubator operating in Fountain Hills.

Mayor Linda Kavanagh will read a number of proclamations for the town related to Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Fire Prevention Month, Customer Service Week (Oct. 7-11) and Red Ribbon Day (Oct. 10).

Prior to its regular session the council will meet in a closed executive session to discuss the position of presiding judge for the Fountain Hills Magistrate Court.

The council’s regular meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. in council chambers at Town Hall. The regular session is open to the public.
