Enthusiastic crowds celebrated the holiday of Chanukah at the grand menorah lightings at the Rio Verde Fire Station 442 on Wednesday, Dec. 25, and on the Avenue of the Fountains on Sunday, Dec. 29.
In a display of Jewish pride and unity, the Chabad of Fountain Hills sponsored a Chanukah Car Parade from Fountain Hills to Rio Verde Wednesday, Dec. 25, the first night of Chanukah.
More than a dozen cars displayed menorahs, flags and banners as they drove from the Chabad Edelman Jewish Center to the Rio Verde Fire Station 442 where Rabbi Mendy Lipskier lit a giant menorah to the singing of blessings and Chanukah songs.

On Sunday, Dec. 29, Rabbi Mendy Lipskier lit the giant menorah on the Avenue of the Fountains and recited blessings as celebrants feasted on traditional Chanukah food including soup, latkes (potato pancakes) and jelly doughnuts while enjoying live Jewish music.
