Charles “Ed” Axtell, passed away peacefully, at age 81, on Nov. 8, 2014.
Charles was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and good friend.
He is survived by his loving wife Carol of 62 years; daughters Mickey Axtell-Gauthier (husband Tom) of Cave Creek, Cheryl of Fountain Hills and Carrie Temple of Scottsdale; sons are Mike (wife Mary) of Minneapolis Minn., Matt (wife Venus) of Highland Mich. and Mark (wife Suzanne) of Meridian Idaho; along with 16 grandchildren, six great grandchildren and a brother Duane of San Diego Calif.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Henry and Bertie Wildmon.
Charles loved sailing on Lake Michigan, downhill skiing in Northern Michigan, tending to his rose garden, traveling with family and taking his dog Louise to the dog park.
He is an author of a family genealogy book and was a Boy Scout Master. His passions in life were reading and music.
Ed was the eldest brother of two born in Alma, Mich. Charles and Carol were high school sweethearts who graduated from Bay City Handy High School. They moved to Fountain Hills Arizona in 1992.
Charles worked 32 years for Consumers Power Company in Michigan as a nuclear health physicist. Ed received a B.S. degree from Northwood Institute in 1985.
He was a great man dedicated to hard work, family and friends.
