Cheering on our students

One of the benefits of having a unified school district here and our own high school is athletics. Our local families get to cheer on their children at all levels, but there is something unique about high school sports and all they have to offer.

Our spring sports teams are wrapping up their regular seasons fairly quickly – boys and girls soccer, boys and girls basketball and wrestling. All five squads are doing quite well in their sections and are looking to compete in post-season activities.

Two teams last year were crowned state champs after the winter sports season wrapped up – the girls soccer team along with the Lady Falcons basketball team. The Robotics Club claimed a championship as well.

Who knows? Maybe we’ll have another champion crowned this season…

Fountain Hills can be proud of all its students and their extra-curricular activities such as athletics, band, chorus, robotics, FCCLA, Key Club, National Honor Society and so many others. The Fountain Hills Unified School District offers a wide array of activities beyond the classrooms, thanks to smart budgeting, tax credit donations, parent boosters and a commitment by the administration and School Board.

So as post-season play commences for our athletes, let’s cheer them on. Let’s get more folks who maybe don’t have teens in high school to attend the games. Let’s show true community spirit for our student athletes and all those students who excel during the school day as well as before or after school hours. Our “hometown” community is behind our high school and all our teams.
