The featured speaker at the next Fountain Hills Republican Club meeting is Cheryl Todd, co-owner of AZ Firearms in Avondale and host of Gun Freedom Radio on the Patriot network.

The meeting is set for Saturday, Oct. 15, at the Fountain Hills Community Center. A complimentary light breakfast starts at 8:30 a.m. The speaker takes the podium at 9 a.m.

Todd is a sought after presenter and panel moderator at both the local and national level. She has been an invited speaker at the National Gun Rights Policy Conference and the NSSF Industry Summit, the D.C. Project as well as various news outlets and C-Span.

A wife, mother and grandmother, she speaks to the value of her Second Amendment rights through the lens of self-protection and instilling those values in future generations. Hosting the weekly Gun Freedom Radio show is an extension of her desire to educate and engage and make gun-related topics and issues accessible and easy to understand by separating the facts from the hype.

Todd and her husband Danny have been in business together since they were first married more than 30 years ago. They refer to their business as the “Largest Small Guns Shop in Arizona.” They also own Pot of Gold Estate Sales. Cheryl holds a degree in psychology, which along with her business experience provides her with a unique perspective of the firearms industry.

In addition to being successful business owners, she and her husband support a variety of organizations including the 100 Club of AZ, Soldier's Best Friend, many firefighter and police association charities, Shriners Children's Hospital, Special Olympics and the Homeless Youth Connection. They have been recognized with community service awards for conducting fundraisers for individual local first responders in need.

Fountain Hills Republican Club meetings are open to the public at no charge; reservations are not required. A special invitation is extended to winter visitors.

Following the invited speaker, time is allowed for GOP candidates in the general election to speak.

Future events include the monthly social at the Fireside Grill, Tuesday, Oct. 25 at 6 p.m.; the Nov. 19 meeting, which will be an analysis of the election by Vernon Parker, former official in both Bush administrations and former mayor of Paradise Valley; the annual Christmas party, Saturday, Dec. 17, with Mike Broomhead, popular KFYI radio show host, and participant in the Fountain Hills Thanksgiving Day Parade
