The Salvation Army Christmas Angel program is alive and well in Fountain Hills with local banks hosting Angel trees throughout the month. Next Thursday, Dec. 19, is the final day to take part in the program, for last-minute elves.
On these trees will be numerous Christmas Angel ornaments, each one featuring a child's first name, clothing and shoe size, as well as desired toys. All children are residents or students of Fountain Hills.
As each angel is adopted, bank personnel log the information and keep track of when the gifts for the angel come back to the bank. The deadline is Thursday, Dec. 19. The presents are then delivered to McDowell Mountain Elementary School by the Fountain Hills Fire Dept. and picked up by Santa's elves in time for Christmas.

For those who want to participate, it's as simple as dropping by a local bank and adopting an angel. For questions, or for those who know someone who might benefit from the program, contact the local elementary schools at 664-5100 or 664-5200.
