St. Anthony on the Desert Episcopal Church is hosting a three-day drug and alcohol awareness forum.

It will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. each evening from Tuesday, Sept. 23, through Thursday, Sept. 25.

Some of the questions explored will be:

*Are you concerned your child will be introduced to illegal or prescription drugs and/or alcohol?

*Are you interested in what drugs are trending in your community?

*Do you think your child is using drugs or alcohol?

*Do you know what resources are available to get help?

Tuesday’s theme focuses on “awareness.”

Guest speakers will be Theresa Londono of Drug Free Arizona Kids (trending drugs) and Officer Rob Katzaroff (costs and legal ramifications of a DUI).

Wednesday’s theme is “accepting help.”

Speakers are Dr. Noel Kilgarriff (psychology of addiction) and a panel of parents and young adults telling stories of their experiences.

“Action” will be Thursday’s theme.

Bob, a parent, will discuss boundaries and resources from a parent’s perspective, and discussing the spiritual aspects of addiction will be the Rev. Dorian Mulvey and the Rev. John Millar.

St. Anthony is located at 129th Street and Shea Blvd., just a few minutes from Fountain Hills.

Registration is encouraged by calling (480) 451-0860 or visiting www.st-anthony.net

The forum is hosted by the church’s youth ministries.
