Fountain Hills Fire Department has notified residents living in the vicinity of Fountain Hills and Shea boulevards that it is hosting informational meetings for citizens this week.

The first session was held Monday with about a dozen residents turning out to ask questions and voice concerns.

In that initial session people raised concerns about property values, safety, timing of the meetings and whether all options were being considered.

The town is working on the potential relocation of Fire Station #2 in the southern half of Fountain Hills to a site that will better meet response time requirements.

A second public meeting has been scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 5, also at 5 p.m. in the council chambers. This is just prior to the scheduled council meeting.
