Climate change? What climate change?
The National Climate Data Center has recently shown that the actual global temperature has not risen at all in the last 15 years. This is despite the fact that carbon dioxide has continued to increase globally.
The actual data shows that since the 1880s the temperature has been dropping 0.4 degrees globally till 2010 and then rose 0.8 degrees from 1910 to 1998. It implies that the temperatures tend to cycle. The temperature has been statistically flat over the last 15 years.
What does this mean? Well…
A. The model scientists use to tie carbon dioxide to global warming may not be correct.
B. We may be preparing to cool down again.
C. We may be in some weird holding pattern, thermally.
In any case, it is interesting to see that scientists do not have all the answers and that despite the fact that the polar ice is melting, we may be seeing shifts in temperature and climate not overall warming.
