The National Weather Service has upgraded a freeze watch to a warning for the Phoenix area including Fountain Hills effective from about 10 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, into Friday morning, Dec. 6.
The freeze warning means that temperatures are likely to dip to freezing or below. Residents should consider providing protection for cold sensitive plants using sheets or blankets, but not plastic, to cover the plants.
Also, pets should be provided protection against the cold temperatures. Exposed water pipes should also be covered or wrapped to prevent freezing.
