Monday, Oct. 13, is the federal Columbus Day holiday in Arizona with some people enjoying the day off, but not many.

The offices for the Town of Fountain Hills at Town Hall will be open normal hours from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Community Center and Library will also be open.

The Fountain Hills School District will begin its fall break on Monday so there will be no classes and the offices will be closed.

Branches for only three banks in Fountain Hills are closed Monday due to the holiday. Bank of America, Meridian Bank and Washington Federal will be closed. The U.S. Post Office is closed, and there will be no mail delivery on Monday

Columbus Day is not a holiday for Republic Services and trash collection in Fountain Hills. Trash collection for Monday, as well as the remainder of the week, will take place as normally scheduled.

The Times is not taking the holiday and there will be not changes to deadlines for the week.
