The Board of Trustees for the Community Church of the Verdes has set aside a time to make special recognition for its staff and invites the community to thank them for serving the church.

The board has issued a statement in which it states they are aware of the special anniversary of Music Director Tom Wojtas. Wojtas has been providing the church with beautiful and inspiring music for 25 years.

“Moreover, the board learned that our trio, Debby Wojtas and Jeffrey Stevens have each contributed to our musical experience for the past 15 years, while Sara Burton is about to reach her five-year milestone,” the statement reads.

In recognition of the hard work of all staff members, the board has decided to implement a “Staff Appreciation Week” in addition to honoring the musicians. This includes Pastor Cathy Northrup (13 years), Judy Stansbury (five years), Glen Langenfeld (12 years), and a recent addition, Skyler Evans. Although Karen Stevens is not technically a church staff member, she is currently assisting as they continue a search for a financial administrator.

The staff appreciation week was March 10 through Sunday, March 17, with recognition following the annual meeting. This enables the congregation to thank everyone during the week, rather than all at once during fellowship, making it more personal and meaningful.
