Community to celebrate Easter with Sunrise Service

Posted

Pastor Trent Renner of Christ’s Church of Fountain Hills will deliver the sermon at the annual Easter sunrise service at 6 a.m. on Sunday, April 16, in Fountain Park.

His topic will be “Easter Whys.”

Ministers in the Fountain Hills Christian Ministerial Association will participate by offering prayers and scripture readings.

Debbie Fischer and the ensemble from Fountain Hills Presbyterian Church will provide music and hymns.

Attendees should bring a chair to sit on during the service and a blanket for warmth.

“It is arguable that Fountain Hills holds the most beautiful location in the state for an Easter Sunrise Service,” said Renner. “We, as the pastors in town, are excited to once again invite the Fountain Hills community to join us for this celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.”

Renner added that he was humbled and honored to be invited by the Ministerial Association to be the key speaker this year. He also offered some insight into the message he will provide.

“Christians know Easter is when we all celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus, but I am encountering many Christians who aren’t able to answer the serious reasons as to why Jesus had to die and resurrect,” Renner said. “[I] promise this message will bring encouraging clarity as to how much the Father in Heaven loves us all, and how God desires for each of us to know Him personally.”

Others Churches involved in the sunrise service include Pastor Steve Bergeson of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church; Pastor Todd Forrest of Fountain Hills Christian Center; Deacon Dick Smith of Church of the Ascension; Pastor Rick Ponzo of Calvary Chapel of Fountain Hills; and Pastor Bill Good and Ken Brown of Fountain Hills Presbyterian Church.

Also, Pastor Bobby Brewer of North Chapel Fountain Hills; Pastor Tony Pierce of First Baptist Church; Pastor Tom Daley of Trinity Lutheran Church, Pastor John Nichols of Harvest Bible Church, Ken Brown, Kent Grothe, Rob Warembourg and David Iverson of Extended Hands Food Bank.

There will be an offering for Extended Hands Food Bank as well as a request to bring a non-perishable food item at the event.
