I’m the organizer of Concours in the Hills, which was held this past Saturday in the park around the lake; an absolutely spectacular setting for a car show.
Yet again we had perfect weather and set another record with over 500 cars and an estimated 10-to-15,000 spectators. We had several cars worth millions of dollars each, plus some very successful race cars all worth well over a hundred million dollars. We don't have a total raised for the Boys & Girls Clubs yet, but it will be in excess of $90,000.
I would like to thank all the volunteers who helped make the show successful and run smoothly, even totally eliminating the horrendous traffic jam we had last year.

From our town, I would like to thank Mayor Linda Kavanagh for her enthusiastic support, as well as Rachael Goodwin, Grady Miller, Mark Mayer, Justin Weldy, Don Clark, Kevin Snipes and Joe (Sorry, Joe, but I don't know your last name), Captain David Letourneau and Mark Fisher.
Phyllis Kern, of Kern Realty, went well over and above not only donating her wonderful Showmobile, but arranging golf carts and, combined with Christine Zimmerman of Monroe’s Bar & Grill, kept all the hot and exhausted volunteers hydrated and fed.
David Racich of Broker’s Alliance paid for our DJ and his equipment setup, and provided two videographers, one of whom went up in our helicopter for some truly unique video.
Julie Buchkowski of Paul’s Ace Hardware generously donated well over $500 of supplies for signs, etc.
If I've overlooked anyone, I apologize but I'm old and very tired today.
My wife and I love living in Fountain Hills and we started this show three years ago to attract more people here in the hope that they will settle here and grow our town.
