American politics is similar to the boxing ring. Boxing has two ways to win and boxers prefer a knockout. The other way to win is by vote of three judges.
So what are the three judges in politics?
Since American politics is essentially a two-party system; obviously the two parties are two of the three judges. Who, or what, then is the third judge? The third judge, or a referee, is the news media, and hopefully an honest one like in the days of Walter Cronkite.

President Trump said, “Fake news is the enemy of the people.” He does not say that honest, unbiased news is the enemy of the people.
Fake news does not use enough adjectives and adverbs or qualifiers in their so-called reports. An most importantly, their reports are not mutually inclusive to contain both pro and con in equal measure. So readers, listeners and viewers get confused. Do not let fake news confuse you.
It is not very difficult to recognize fake news. First, you need several sources for info. Then, meld those sources together; the same as piecing together a jigsaw puzzle.
For example: Recently leaked from the Department of Homeland Security, “Country of origin is not a reliable indicator of terrorists.” Oh, but it is reliable if you add the missing words – the qualifying words – that the country of origin is a failed state or a collapsed government, or a government with no records to facilitate our government’s vetting procedures.
