The first hike will leave from the Eagle Mountain Trailhead at 8 a.m., Nov. 16.

Just a week later participate in the annual “Walk off the Turkey Hike” with Jim Grajek and Pam Cissik.

This hike will be from the Adero Canyon Trailhead to the Lost Dog Wash in Scottsdale. A vehicle shuttle will be required. This is a moderate to hard 5.5-mile hike with a 1,450-foot elevation gain.

With the opening of the Adero Canyon Trailhead the Sonoran Conservancy of Fountain Hills is looking to establish a volunteer Trailhead Host program.

The hosts would provide maps and information to visitors about the trails and the Preserve.

The work would entail two to three hours per month on weekends. Hiking is not required. Those interested may contact Carol Ayres at 480-221-4025 or quail116440@gmail.com.
