Contemptible

Based on “Pastor” Tony Pierces letter last week, it seems transgender people are the latest group in his never-ending parade of “sinners” to be beaten about the head and neck with his special hard-bound version of the Bible and his own toxic brand of “Christian love.”

I find him contemptible, so I shan’t address his flailing arms in particular because, honestly, by this point he is the “boy who cried sinner!” But I will address anyone who reads his trope and finds him or herself halfway nodding in agreement.

Folks, I couldn’t care less about the underwear of your choice, but if you find it’s all bunched up over the “transgender issue,” let me offer these soothing facts:

1) For as long as humans have formed societies, we have had transgender men and women within those societies;

2) Thus, for as long as we’ve had public facilities, we’ve had transgender men and women peeing in public loos, water closets, bathrooms, johns, lavatories, etc.

3) Thus, you’ve peed in the same room as transgender people, so...

4) You’ve made it this far without concerning yourself where transgender people pee, and you ought to continue not concerning yourself with such a pathetic and embarrassing triviality.

Shorthand: grow up.

That off my chest, I apologize; I just can’t help myself, and I find I must address a specific concern from Pierce’s letter directly. In it, he says, “... I personally would never allow a man to enter a restroom that was used by my wife...”

To which I must reply, “C’mon, dude! A well-placed scented candle should take care of that.If it doesn’t, consider cutting down on dairy.”

You’re welcome.
