Corey Povar has joined the Town of Fountain Hills Community Services team as a recreation coordinator.

Povar is not just new to the town, he is new to the west. He was managing a recreation center in Greensboro, N.C. when he decided to seek other opportunities.

He grew up in Virginia and went to school in North Carolina.

“I’ve never been this far west in my life,” Povar said. “It is a definite change.”

Povar received a master’s degree in parks and recreation management from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and did undergraduate work at Chowan University in Murfreesboro, N.C.

With his job in Fountain Hills, Povar will coordinate special interest programs and youth and teen programs.

“I’m excited to start a new chapter and look forward to improving what is already here in the community,” Povar said.
