The Fountain Hills Town Council has unanimously approved a request by town staff to apply for grant funding through the remainder of the current calendar year.
In the past, grant requests have been taken to the council for approval on an individual basis. However, according to staff this can create issues with time constraints on deadlines that go with grant applications.
“Timing requirements for grant applications is often a critical factor and can vary drastically,” Public Works Director Justin Weldy said in a presentation to the council. Public works is a significant user of grants for funding projects.
