It is anticipated that later this year construction will begin on a significant project to widen Shea Boulevard through Fountain Hills.
Town Public Works Director Justin Weldy updated the Town Council in a Feb. 27 workshop session related to the upcoming fiscal year budget and described what is expected to take place.
The first phase of the project is adding a third lane to eastbound Shea Boulevard between Palisades and Fountain Hills boulevards. Weldy said the design is complete and the project is scheduled to go out for bid in the coming weeks.
