Council meets Tuesday

The Town Council will consider a zoning amendment request along with a special use permit when it meets on Tuesday, Feb. 19.
If approved the proposal would allow residential use within a commercial office (C-O zoning) with a council-approved special use permit.
While the Zoning Ordinance does not currently allow for residential use within the C-O designation, the ordinance does consider them compatible.
Staff currently has an applicant interested in using the second floor of a building within C-O zoning for residential use, along with a business on the first floor.
At the same meeting the council will consider an application for a special use permit for the property at 16857 E. Saguaro Blvd. at Firebrick Drive.
Public hearings will be held in conjunction with the consideration of these items.
The council will also consider the appointment of five citizens to the Community Services Advisory Commission, and one citizen to fill a vacancy on the Municipal Property Corporation.
The agenda also allows council discussion on items being considered by the Arizona State Legislature while it is in session. The council may consider support or opposition to various items presented in the weekly Legislative Bulletin released by the League of Arizona Cities and Towns.
The Town Council will meet on Tuesday, Feb. 19, at 5:30 p.m. in council chambers at Town Hall. The meeting is open to the public.
The information in this story is based on a preliminary agenda for the session and is subject to change up to 24 hours prior the meeting time.
