Fountain Hills council member cleared on ethics complaint

Allegations against Vice Mayor Kalivianakis

An independent investigator has determined that Fountain Hills Vice Mayor Brenda Kalivianakis was not in violation of the Town’s Rules of Procedure Code of Ethics in the way she handled information received from a developer with a zoning case before the council.

Attorney Tina I. Vannucci with Fitzgibbons Law in Casa Grande reviewed the complaints as she has several others for the town over the past year or two.

“I do not find that Vice Mayor Kalivianakis engaged in any conduct that violated the Code of Ethics by receiving an email from a developer to her personal email address, even though the developer noted that they did not want the document in the public domain,” Vannucci wrote in her findings to Town Attorney Aaron Arnson.
