Fountain Hills council rejects staff grant request

Siting plan for EV charging

A request by town staff to accept a $100,000 grant to prepare a siting plan for an electric vehicle charging station in Fountain Hills was rejected by the town council on an even 3-3 vote.

The council had previously given authorization to staff to seek grants before bringing them to the council for final approval.

Public Works Director Justin Weldy said the plan is to provide a rapid charging point for travelers heading out of the Valley or returning.
