Developers of a proposed $61 million apartment project will go before the Town Council Wednesday, Jan. 17, with a request for a zoning change to accommodate the development.
Sandor Development, the current owner of the Four Peaks Plaza where the Target store is located in Fountain Hills has a plan to redevelop a portion of the plaza with a 316-unit, four-story apartment building. The zoning change asks for mixed use PAD to allow for the residential complex.
In December, the town’s Planning and Zoning Commission voted 4-2 to recommend the Town Council deny the application. During that P&Z meeting, a significant number of citizens came out to speak in opposition to the plan. Since that time the council heard a similar number of residents express support during a call to the public portion of a council meeting in December. The developer also received support from Chamber of Commerce members at a meeting earlier this month.
