If you are a Cox cable customer, whether and how you’re affected by the digital switch beginning June 7 depends largely on what equipment you have now.
Customers who have only wall-connected TVs will need to order equipment, such as the mini box, to continue service. If all your TVs are connected to a Cox receiver, no action is required.
If you have an older television and it connects directly to the wall jack, you will not receive any picture without a converter box after the digital conversion is completed.

Cox officials say the results should be noticeable improvements in picture and sound quality on basic-cable’s standard definition channels and faster internet speeds.
As a Cox customer, you’ll also receive an on-screen program guide and more HD channels.
For now, Cox is offering one free mini box for a year and for some customers, two free mini boxes for two years. Eventually the company will charge $2.99 per month per mini box.
