OPINION — As a proud American and legal immigrant, my viewpoint may differ from others. Having left England during the disastrous days of Wilson’s Socialist Government I know, from experience, Socialism doesn’t work.
The beauty of the USA is that the American dream is available through hard work and determination for anyone. It’s the land of opportunity, like nowhere else on this planet. Socialism and Communism are un-American, because the coffers of those paying for their failing policies eventually dries up (i.e. Venezuela and the Soviet Union). China, Russia, home-grown Socialist/Communists along with, sadly many illegal immigrants don’t want America to recover from the Biden years.
On joining the Royal Marines in 1973, the first assignment was to read Mao Zedong’s “Little Red Book” and study Che Guevara and insurgency. Why? To know your enemy! In Cyprus, during the troubles there were demonstrations and in the front row were women with knitting needles. The crowd would surge forward and women would thrust the needles into the crotches of the soldiers. The photos taken would be of a soldier retaliating, perhaps with the butt of his rifle in defense, not the thrusting of the needles. Next, the left-leaning reporters would decry the soldier’s actions. The press would then have their martyr to raise up anti-peace-keeping feelings.
